Bobbin Transformer Constructions
Bobbin transformers replace the paper tube and paper layer winding with a molded plastic form. Often bobbin will have terminal pins molded directly into the bobbin. Small bobbin units can be directly mounted against a printed circuit board. Bobbins are available in many sizes and can be used for industry steel laminations or ferrite core constructions. A split bobbin has an additional section in the middle of the bobbin to provide superior isolation between the primary and secondary windings. Various bobbin materials are available to allow use for higher temperatures. |
