Current Transformers
A Current Transformer is used in monitoring and/or measuring applications to measure higher current. The high current primary connection is usually stepped down to a smaller current that can easily be measured. Current Transformers are made with the secondary coil wound on the core. The customer will usually insert the primary turn with a lead wire or buss bar through the center of core. The turn ratio of the component will allow the customer to monitor or measure a smaller current. |
